The model 163 engine lathe is one of the most widespread machines in the former USSR (produced for 12 years from 1956 to 1968).
The 163 lathe is designed for machining medium and large-sized parts in single-piece and small-batch production. The machine allows for external and internal turning, including taper turning, boring, drilling, and thread cutting: metric threads with a pitch from 1 to 192 mm, module threads, module threads with a pitch from 0.5π to 48π mm, inch threads with 24 to 1/4 threads per inch, and diametral pitch threads from 96 to 7/8 DP.
The maximum workpiece dimensions are Ø630 × 1400 (2800) mm.
